Rocco “BenRoy” Bruno, OSD, is the Founder and Director of the Eternal Way Center. After a Catholic preparatory school graduation in May of 1973 with valedictorian honors, Rocco attended The University of Texas at Austin to pursue a keen interest in the health and medical fields. Four years of undergraduate study later, he decided that a future as an allopathic physician would be far too focused on disease and too crisis-oriented for his tastes, and realized that his calling was to become a prevention-oriented educator. It was then that Thomas Edison’s prophetic statement, “The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patient in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease,” took hold in Rocco’s life. His purpose and life quest took shape: To find, to experience, and then to share the source and cause of health.
This quest continued in 1977 when Rocco became a distributor for Success Motivation Institute. He gave motivational seminars to encourage integrated living practices and attitude training as key means to ensure progress in life. Only 22 years of age at the time, Rocco and his recruited associates’ efforts led his company to world-wide recognition and honors within the SMI family (whose influence was felt in twenty-five countries) in his first year. Rocco’s efforts earned him an invitation to SMI’s home office where he worked for about a year with over 100 distributors in 30 of the American states.
Unsatisfied with his personal growth in this corporate environment, Rocco left SMI in 1979 and resumed his consultation services while questing in new directions. His search brought him encounters with personalities that influenced him deeply. In 1980, Rocco met Roy Eugene Davis, Director of Christian Spiritual Alliance and its education outreach, Center for Spiritual Awareness in Lakemont, Georgia. Roy was a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda, author of the spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi. Having benefited personally from the transformative experiences of meditation and the yogic lifestyle, Rocco consecrated his life to sharing these simple but dynamic techniques for spiritual awakening and personal improvement. Rocco has been ordained by Roy Davis to continue the teachings of yoga in this eternal tradition of Kriya.
Ongoing study and service in the holistic health field have resulted in a number of designations: Colon Hygienist Certification from Colon Therapeutics in Port Arthur, Texas (1982-1983); Advanced Nutrition Instructor Certification from the School of Nutrition in Houston, Texas (1983-1984); Massage and Bodywork Certification from New Creation Massage Training School in Austin, Texas (1989); and Personal Fitness Trainer Certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine in Chicago, Illinois (1990).
Rocco has written a myriad of articles, pamphlets, and fliers for free distribution on a variety of topics to elevate people’s consciousness. His most recent book, Remember, is published by Eternal Way Press. He has addressed numerous organizations, churches, and civic groups on health and motivational topics of interest, including the sanctity and unity of all human beings as children of God and the vast responsibilities that accompany conscious living.
Today, he lives in Austin, Texas, sharing his life experience through the Eternal Way and its outreach ministry programs to encourage God-conscious living and service to God in others. The quest to “seek and find first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” in all that you do is the embodiment of the eternal way. The eternal way culminates within every soul with the knowing that One Truth, One God, One Spirit is the underlying Reality of all that manifests.
